Thank you from a mother without her daughter and a daughter fighting to make everyone ok with her mother, father and step mother. Your words right true and right and sad and fierce. I take them in and let God, the mother, help me to love harder and better with them. Thank you.

Elena, your words continue to amaze me, they also speak to my heart. Holidays are full of grief for me, only one adult ( child) is in our lives now and often it feels like more than I can bear. We have 3 kids. Your words remind me that God is always there and I sure need that reminder. Bless you always❤️

Thank you for this, Elena. Tonight at Rockwell Falls Presbyterian Church in Lake Luzerne, we had a candlelight and blue Christmas service. It was exactly what I needed, and I know others felt the same. To have our grief, our pain, our suffering and the grief, pain, and suffering of humanity in this troubled world acknowledged, and the acknowledgement that God is with us in all of that at the same time as we are offered the hope, the promise, and the joy of knowing divine love and forgiveness and salvation is ours -- doesn't erase all the pain, but it shares the space of it. Yes. Christmas comes, whether we are ready or not! Thank God for that; thank God for Jesus's life, death, resurrection, forgiveness, and grace, and for the presence of Holy Spirit with us always, whether we are ready or not! Have a blessed Christmas with your family and the Hamilton Union family too!
